I'm not sure if there's a place here to share beautiful quotes. But there are so many of them. I'd like to add in a quote or saying on a daily basis.

Here's my first:

A man slips more by his tongue than by his foot!

1. “Better ask ten times than go astray once.” - Yiddish proverb

2. “Being ignorant is not so much a shame, as being unwilling to learn.” - Benjamin Franklin

1. The ink of a scholar is more worthed than the blood of a martyr. (source Bilal by H.A.L Craig)

2. One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter.

“The believer in this world is like a stranger: he does not become upset when it puts him down, and he does not compete for it to make him honorable. The people are in a certain state, and he is in another state: the people are relieved of him, and he is exhausted of himself.” - al-Hasan al-Basri

"You may spend your whole life trying to attain someone else's love only to realize that you became stronger and a better person without it. However, when it comes to the love of Allah you will only become stronger and a better person with it." Navaid Aziz

I heard this in a movie yesterday,
GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE.

VERILY, WITH EVERY DIFFICULTY, THERE IS RELIEF.
-Quran(94:6)

Four Types of People in this World Entering a Conversation
by Imam Shafi'ee rahimahullah.

There are four types of people in this world who enter a
conversation/ discussion:

1. One who knows not, and himself knows he knows not, is a
student. Teach that person.

2. One who knows, and others know he knows, is a teacher. Learn
from that person.

3. One who knows, and himself knows not that he knows, is
humble. Encourage him.

4. One who knows not, and himself knows not that he knows not,
is stupid. Avoid that person.

In any dialogue keep these in mind, and you shall be guided to
productive discourses.

Hey guys, I belong to the first category. What about you? :)

When the world pushes you to your knees, you're in the perfect position to pray.

Stinginess has nothing to do with how much money you have. Neither does generosity. Its about how much heart you've got.

Imam al-Shafi' in his final sickness said:
When my heart was hardened
and my courses constrained
I made my hope a stairway
to Your forgiveness
My sin burdened me heavily,
but when I measured it
by Your forgiveness
Lord,
Your forgiveness was the greater.

"Never tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon." -Unknown

Ali ibn abi Talib (radiAllahu anhu) in his letter to malik e Ashtar, when
sending him to a town which was half muslim and half non muslim:
"O Malik, remember they are either your brothers in faith or your equals
in humanity"

Never do I argue with a man with a desire to hear him say
what is wrong, or to expose him and win victory over him.
Whenever I face an opponent in debate I silently pray -
O Lord, help him so that truth may flow from his heart
and on his tongue, and so that if truth is on my side, he may follow me;
and if truth be on his side, I may follow him. - Imam Al-Shafi (rahimullah)

Who does greater evil than he who is reminded of the signs of the Lord,
then turns away from them?
- Qur'an, 32:22

Jazakallah khair for sharing. I'll try to remember this always.

"The word "shams" (sun) is feminine, and "qamar" (moon) is masculine.
The sun burns itself out to give light and life to everything around, and
the moon is muneer, meaning it reflects the light. Within itself it has no
light; it radiates the brilliance of the sun. So when we shine as men, the
implication is that we are reflecting the glorious light of our women. May
Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'aala be pleased with them."

- Shaykh Abdullah Adhami
