◇♡ DO U KNOW WHAT ATTAHIYAT IS? [MUST READ TILL END]◇♡Attahiyat is a very important 'Dua' we repeat in our daily prayers. When I learnt the importance of this, it melted my heart. Attahiyat is actually a part of the conversation between Our Creator Allah SWT, and our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW during his journey of Al Isra Wal Miraj.

When Prophet Muhammad SAW met Allah SWT, he didn't say 'Assalam aleikum'. What is someone going to say when he meets Allah SWT? We can't wish HIM peace because ALL sources of peace are through HIM.

So Prophet Muhammad SAW said:
"Attahiyyaatu Lillahi Was Salawatu Wattayyibatu" (All compliments, all prayer and worship are for Allah)

Allah SWT replied:
"Assalamu Alaika Ayyuhannabiyyu 'Warahmatullahi Wabarka'tuhu" (Peace be upon you, Oh Prophet and Allah's Mercy and Blessings).

To this, Prophet Muhammad SAW replied: "Assalamu Alaina Wa'ala'Ibadillahis Saa'liheen" (Peace be on us and on all good slaves of Allah)
Note* Prophet Muhammad SAW included "us" in his reply... (and on all good slaves of Allah)

And listening to this conversation between Allah SWT and His Messenger SAW, the Angels said:
"Ash'had'u'un La ilahaillallahu Wa Ash'hadu Anna Muhammadun Abd'uhu Wa Rasooluh"
(I bear witness that no one is worthy of worship except Allah And I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger).

SubhanAllah!!!!!
I now understand the importance of this conversation in our daily prayers and how the Salat was prescribed to us.

There is no word as beautiful as Allah. No example as beautiful as Rasulallah(SAW). No lesson as beautiful as Islam. No song as melodious as Adhaan. No charity as meaningful as Zakat. No encyclopedia as perfect as Al-Quran. No prayer as perfect as Salaat (Namaz). No diet as perfect as fasting.

I never thought about it like that, thank you for sharing its beautiful when it’s explained.
The question “what would you say is you meet Allah?” definitely not “Salam Alaikom” as Salam is one of the names of Allah, and if you think about the meaning of “Asalam Alaikom” it will be an inappropriate way to start a conversation with Allah.

Salaams,

Beautiful, isn't it?

An area where I see people rush through is the sit between the two sujoods. That is a dua for us, beautifully placed between the two times we praise Allah in our humblest posture!

MashaAllah.

Peace :shade:

Assalaamu alaikum,

It is a beautiful story. However, I fear that that is all it may be… a story. I've looked for the source of this story, and I've found it verbatim on another forum (Naiaraland)… but no references. I saw another discussion forum (sunniforum) where the source of this story is discussed, and it seems it may be fabricated.

If anyone can give a reference for this, it would be nice to have it. The ahadith seem to point to another explanation.

Jazakallah khairan.
