How do you make your intention before Salah

I know some people say it in their own language, some say inni wajjahtu..., some say nawwaytu nusalli...etc. what is the actual way to make intention before salah? I've heard you can say 'i am making intention to follow this imam and pray "4 rakat farz (for e.g) as well.
