Abu Umamah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “O son of Adam, it is better for you to spend in charity and to withhold is evil for you, but there is no blame if you withhold for necessary living. Begin with your dependents, and the upper hand that gives is better than the lower hand that takes.”

Narrated by Abdullah Bin Mas'ud (RA):
Allah's Apostle said, "Do not wish to be like anyone except in two cases: the one whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it righteously, and the one whom Allah has given wisdom and he acts accordingly."

“There was a merchant who would lend to the people, and whenever his debtor was in difficult circumstances, he would say to his employees, ‘Forgive him so that God may forgive us.’ So, God forgave him.”

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was asked what type of earning was best, and he replied: ” A man’s work with his hands and every (lawful) business transaction.”
