Someone told me Black Carraway is not the black seed oil the prophet (saw) was referring to rather he was referring to Black Cummin. So he advised me to make sure when I buy black seed oil that it's derived from Black Cummin and not Black Carrawau.

I am just wondering is this true? is there a difference between the two? I thought both were the same thing. Here is a quote

There are many companies who are selling black seed and there are many that are not good. Never buy from a company who claims it is black caraway as the black caraway and the black cumin are two different plants.

And does anyone know where I can purchase black seed from in a powder form. I found the following remedy that's why I require it in powder form.

Hemorrhoids

Take black seed in powdered form with water

According to the book Healing with the Medicine of the Prophet (S.A.W) by Imam Ibn Qayyim Al-Jauziyah, The Black Seed is called Habba Sawdaa or Habbat Al-Barakah in Arabic and Shuneiz in Persian

In the Sahihain it is narrated that Abu Hurairah (RA) related from the Propeht (SAW) that he said:

"Use the Black Seed, because it contains a cure for every time of ailment, except for death." (At-Tirmidhu and Ibn Hibban)

They are called nigella seeds (Nigella sativa) in English and Kalonji in Urdu.

Not sure if black caraway is the same thing.

But this alone not cure hemorrhoids. You should start having a high--fibre diet. a sitz bath twice a day will help ease the pain.

Nigella sativa is the true Black seed. It is often called black cumin or black caraway. When buying it be certain to buy it by the Botanical name and not the local names. As often local names are not the same from one place to another. Just for example there are at least 30 different species of snakes in the USA with the local name of "Chicken Snake".

Local names for anything often vary not just from country to country but even from community to community. Always use the Scientific name to be certain of what you are getting and what you want is Nigella sativa.

Brother try the black seed oil from a company called "Hamil al Musk". I have been using it for the last three months. Before I started using the oil I used to get a flu almost every month. Now Alhamdulillaah I don't even get a sore throat. Just take half a tea spoon with some warm drink any time of the day.

Just google "black seed oil hamil al musk" and you will find a lot of sites seeling the stuff. Try http://www.al-mujalbaba.com/blackseedoil.html for example.

jazakallah khair for the replies, I normally buy this 1 http://www.al-hidaayah.co.uk/shifa-...cName=essentials-natural-healing-and-cosmetic

however it doesn't say Nigella sativa, I may have to email them and ask if it's Nigella sativa. What do you guys think? does it look like the real deal?

Does anyone know if it's ok to take 2 table spoons a day? once in the morning and once at night?
