This thread is for enthusiasts of the live streams from Makkah and Madinah, specifically with regards to recording them. You can share recording software details and URLs here.

WM Recorder version 8 is one free recorder available for download, but only records from urls that are in mms or http format.

You can download WM Recorder version 8 from here: http://www.chip.de/downloads/WM-Reco..._13007351.html

Once downloaded and the .exe programme file run, and set-up complete, you should get the WMR icon somewhere. Click on it, it will ask if you want to run the file, click, run, yes, or allow as the case may be. This then gives the following:

wmr-1.jpg

Click URL (at the bottom in the middle)

This then gives the following:

wmr1-1.jpg

Delete URL from the large space at the bottom. Copy and paste the link you're going to use to record from, into that large space, and then click Record.

If it's recording, it should look like this soon after clicking record:

wmr2-1.jpg

When you want to stop recording, click Cancel/Abort*. Make a note of the file name, in this case New[117]. Now you can close the recorder by clicking the x at the top right.

Go to your hard drive via My Computer, (normally C drive?) and find the folder called MRecord.

Your recording should be in there, with the name given during the recording process, and you should be able to play it from there. On Vista you might have to change the file suffix from .asf to .asx for it to play.

* There is a lag time of about a minute, so only stop the recording at least a minute after you want it to.

Currently, for the Makkah/Madeenah streams, this is very choppy resulting in lots of tiny gaps in the recitation. I don't know if it's the links, the software, or something else.

Inshaa'Allah maybe we can find other software or links that work better, especially with Ramadhan coming up.

Links for Saudi One and Saudi Two:

http://38.96.148.75/CH2TV

Saudi Qur'an al Kareem Channel and Saudi Sunnah Channel links:

mms://38.96.148.75/Quran
mms://38.96.148.75/Sunnah

If You Enter The Above In Your Browser Without '' mms:// ', It Will Work In Your Browser As Full Screen.

Iharam Website Has mms Links

Please Note: The Makkah Live Link Above Has Problems Throughout The Year, Probably Something Related To Server Problems. I Have The Same Problem Many Times. I Use The mms Links To Record VIA Real Player But This Lags And Has Delays.

I Do Not Quite Understand How To Use The Program Above Properly Although I Downloaded It Only Today.

If anyone has details of audio recorders, that would be useful too.

Jazaak Allaah Khayr for this! May Allaah enable us all to go to His house at least once in our lifetime, Ameen.

jazakAllah for the ip addresses sis,
there's also a decent recording software called camstudio, it'll record anything on ur screen
from any format.

Jazakallah, Inshallah I Will Try And Record Zuhr Adhan And Salaah Today. I Uploaded Another Two Videos After The Above Which Has Been Used Through This Program

I tried recording, however the following streams:

mms://38.96.148.75/Sunnah
mms://38.96.148.75/Quran

are very poor and the Quality of the video after being recorded is also poor. Is there any way on how to mend this? Could anyone provide some more links which may be clearer to record?

Jazaak Allaahu Khayran.

Try these:

http://38.96.148.74/CH1TV
http://38.96.148.75/CH2TV

And this in place of the first link if it doesn't work:

mms://38.96.148.74/CH1TV%20

But keep in mind that they record from Saudi 1 and 2, rather than the Makkah and Madinah 24 hour channels, so would only be any good if you want to record at salaat times.

During Ramadan, the only combination I could get to work was the Sunnah link for Madinah, and mms://38.96.148.74/CH1TV%20 for Makkah.

Haven't tried recently though.

Jazaakillaahu Khayran sis! :) I will deffo try this for tomorrows Salaah. :ia:.

Iv Tested The Links. They Work But Sometimes The Software Stops Recordings In Between. Is There Any Other Free Software Out There. How Do The Other Users Record. Do They Do It Through The Television?

:jz: khayr for these instructions, which successfully play the stream through VLC player. (I pressed play in the dialogue box where you paste the URL, which was top of the drop-down list - there was no option to record there).

How does one record though, and how/where does one save and view the recorded file?

I pressed the red record button, then pressed it again to stop recording, but have no idea how/where I find what was recorded, what the file is called, or if indeed anything was recorded.

I think it'll be saved in the Videos folder in Libraries (for win 7).

Just wandered if anyone knows how to record rtmp streams, or had any experience/success with Orbit downloader (or others). Most of the raw sources of the streams are in rtmp format, which conventional recorders don't record.

Saudi Qur'an al Kareem channel stream from the official website has been down the past few days, though the stream plays on youtube/Makkah Live and kure.tv.

Wow, I Didnt Realise Until Today, I Can Actually Play These Streams Properly From My Phone With No Difficulty- Need To Find A Recording Feature Which Im Sure Is Out There But I Have To Root My Phone In Order To Do That
