What does this mean?

Narrated Abu Huraira: A bedouin came to Allah's Apostle and said. "My wife has delivered a black child." The Prophet said to him. "Have you camels?" He replied. "Yes." The Prophet said. "What color are they?" He replied. "They are red." The Prophet further asked. "Are any of them gray in color?" He replied. "Yes." The Prophet asked him. "Whence did that grayness come?" He said. "I thing it descended from the camel's ancestors." Then the Prophet said (to him). "Therefore this child of yours has most probably inherited the color from his ancestors." Volume 8. Book 82. Number 830

I don't understand what this means, it's hard to understand
 
The bedouin suspected his wife of adultery so he went to our prophet (sas) and told him his baby was black.
Muhammad (sas) explained to him that if there was a black person in the ancestors of either the man or the wife, the dark skin colour of the baby might come from this person even though both of the parents are white.
 
But wouldn't the chance of that occurring be extremely rare?

It seems obvious that the bedouin got cheated on, so why did Muhammad (PBUH) say this?

{"And come not near to unlawful sex. Verily, it is a great sin, and an evil way (that leads one to Hell unless Allah forgives him)."} [Quran, 17: 32]
{"The fornicatress and the fornicator, flog each of them with a hundred stripes. Let not pity withhold you in their case, in a punishment prescribed by Allah, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a party of the believers witness their punishment. [This is for unmarried persons, but if married, the punishment is to stone them to death]."} [Quran, 24: 2]

Just because it is extremely rare doesn't make it impossible.

An Islamic government can punish someone for adultery only if certain requirements are met- The accused can admit to it or 4 witnesses have seen the actual penetration. We don't punish people because we assume them to be guilty. We think the best of our fellow Muslims until they give us reasons to think otherwise.

Given the geographical location of the Arabs, it wouldn't be that far of a stretch to have black ancestry.
 
Thanks for the clarification, I also just realized if an arab and an african were to create a child, the child wouldn't be black. The child would be light skinned (darker than the arab skin, but lighter than black skin). Bringing geography and the region into it, it's not unlikely that two people with a significant amount of black DNA procreated a black child. There are some arabs with darker skin than light skinned blacks.
