WHY IS THE MUSLIM UMMAH SO WEAK RIGHT NOW? (THE REASONS)
# NOT STRIVING IN THE WAY OF ALLAH
•Love of this world
•Hatred of death
•Not striving in the way of Allah
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The people will soon summon one another to attack you as people when eating invite others to share their dish. Someone asked: Will that be because of our small numbers at that time? He replied: No, you will be numerous at that time: but you will be scum and rubbish like that carried down by a torrent, and Allah will take fear of you from the breasts of your enemy and cast enervation into your hearts. Someone asked: What is wahn (enervation). Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): He replied: Love of the world and dislike of death.
Sunan Abi Dawud 4297
Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar:
I heard the Messenger of Allah, (ﷺ) say: When you enter into the inah transaction, hold the tails of oxen, are pleased with agriculture, and give up conducting j-i-h-a-d (struggle in the way of Allah). Allah will make disgrace prevail over you, and will not withdraw it until you return to your original religion.

# LACK OF ISLAMIC KNOWLEDGE
•Lack of Al Wala wal-Bara
• Irja being widespread in this Ummah
•Not making takfīr of the murtadīn (Grave Worshippers, Shias, Secularists, Communists, people of Democracy and all other murtad sects come under this)
• Considering the murtad rulers as legitimate Muslim rulers
•Not knowing that it is kufr to join the Armed Forces and some other departments of every “Muslim country”
• Taking knowledge from evil Scholars and students of knowledge. Also respecting them, asking them questions, accepting their fatwas and not seeing the evil in them
• Expecting change through Democracy. Considering Democracy permissible due to the fatwas of some scholars
•Muslims being nationalistic and taking pride in their ethnicity or nationality
•When the Muslims don’t have knowledge, a group of them call Muslims who are upon the correct Aqīda as Khawarij thus making the other Muslims afraid and suspicious of them
•Believing in superstitions and conspiracy theories
• Trusting news without verifying it first
#IMITATING THE KUFFAR
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "You will follow the ways of those nations who were before you, span by span and cubit by cubit (i.e., inch by inch) so much so that even if they entered a hole of a mastigure, you would follow them." We said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! (Do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?" He said, "Whom else?"
Sahih al-Bukhari 7320
the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“He who imitates any people (in their actions) is considered to be one of them.”
• The education system which poisons the minds of Muslim children (& teenagers) and misguides them right from the beginning
• It is common among the Muslims to watch Hollywood, Bollywood and other disgusting movies, shows and videos
•The heavy presence of the filthy western culture in almost every part of life. From hairstyles to the way of dressing. This makes the Muslim youth take the kafir footballers, actors, social media influencers as role models
•Soft power (culture, political values and foreign policies) of kuffar is very strong right now. Everybody has the urge to imitate them (except the one upon whom Allah has mercy) in every way
# SINS AND INNOVATIONS IN THE RELIGION
•Sins destroy us long before the kuffar destroy us.
“Whatever affliction befalls you is because of what your own hands have committed. And He pardons much.” (Qur’an 42:30)
“Corruption has spread on land and sea as a result of what people’s hands have done, so that Allah may cause them to taste ˹the consequences of˺ some of their deeds and perhaps they might return ˹to the Right Path˺.” (Qur’an 30:41)
Innovations.
The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) told us that: “Every innovation is going astray, and every going astray will be in the Fire.” Narrated by Muslim (867) and an-Nasaa’i (1578)
#NOT ENJOINING GOOD AND FORBIDDING EVIL
If the ummah fails to do its duty of enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil, wrongdoing and corruption will spread throughout the ummah, and it will deserve the curse of Allaah. For Allaah cursed those among the Children of Israel who disbelieved because they failed in this important duty. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Those among the Children of Israel who disbelieved were cursed by the tongue of Dawood (David) and ‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). That was because they disobeyed (Allaah and the Messengers) and were ever transgressing beyond bounds.
They used not to forbid one another from Al-Munkar (wrong, evildoing, sins, polytheism, disbelief) which they committed. Vile indeed was what they used to do [al-Maa’idah 5:78]
• WASTING TIME
Muslims justifying wasting their time and indulgence in the dunya by saying that “it’s not haram”.
The blessing of time is one of the greatest blessings that Allaah can bestow upon His slaves. Allaah even swears by time in some cases, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):
“By Al‑‘Asr (the time)”
[al-‘Asr 103:1]
- because of the importance and blessing of time.
And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Make the most of five things before five others: life before death, health before sickness, free time before becoming busy, youth before old age, and wealth before poverty.” See Saheeh al-Jaami’, no. 1077.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “There are two blessings which many people do not make the most of and thus lose out: good health and free time.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6412.
#NOT ACTING UPON KNOWLEDGE
•Not acting upon the Quran and Sunnah in our own life
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "A man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and will be cast into Hell, and his intestines will pour forth and he will go round them as a donkey goes round a millstone. The inmates of Hell will gather round him and say: 'What has happened to you, O so-and-so? Were you not enjoining us to do good and forbidding us to do evil?' He will reply: 'I was enjoining you to do good, but was not doing it myself; and I was forbidding you to do evil, but was doing it myself".
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
#WRONG PRIORITIES
• Not recognising priorities. Building a Masjid and decorating a Masjid is more important than helping the oppressed Muslims.
Abu Dawood (448) narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas said: The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said: “I have not been commanded to build lofty mosques.” Ibn ‘Abbaas said: You are going toadorn (mosques) as the Jews and Christians adorn (their places of worship). This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one. People asked, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! It is all right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "By preventing him from oppressing others."
Sahih al-Bukhari 2444
# OTHER REASONS
•Defeatist mentality.
• Negative thinking.
• Not giving Dawah.
•Many knowledgeable brothers and sisters don’t teach other Muslims.
• Lack of military training among the men of this Ummah.
